BICKLEY WINS 125cc FINAL
Monday August 26, 2013
White-hot pre-meeting favourite Kyle Bickley duly delivered the good to collect the British 125cc Championship (kindly sponsored by Wessex Marine) in the 13 heat event that followed the Rockets-Berwick match, but only after being pushed to the limit by his rivals.

The young Cumbrian had won all five of the 125cc support classes previously staged this year as part of the British Youth series – including the second round at Rye House in May – and duly went through the card here. Twice in his qualifying races, though, he had to come from the back, while the Grand Final itself proved just that as an epic sign-off to the event, with riders trading places throughout the four laps. Ultimately, however, the chequered flag rose and fell on Bickley, who took the title ahead of 2012 winner Tom Brennan, with Leon Flint third.

Jolyon West was the event’s “Mr Unlucky”, scoring 5 points in two completed rides but suffering from mechanical problems at the starting gate in his other two. A month on from suffering a dislocated left shoulder, Rye House mascot Macauley Leek finished on 4 points.

Scorers (top four to Grand Final):

Kyle Bickley 12, Sam Stead 10, Tom Brennan 8, Leon Flint 8 (qualified for Grand Final), Kai Hubbard 8, Kieran Douglas 6, Jolyon West 5, Henry Atkins 4, Macauley Leek 4, Harry McGurk 4, Harry Jones 2, Jordan Jenkins 1

Grand Final:
