The Rockets have received a tremendous extra boost ahead of Easter Monday’s home and away openers against defending league champions Swindon with the agreement of a team sponsorship deal with local company BP Mitchell.

Based centrally at their head office in Hatfield, BP Mitchell operate from numerous sites across Hertfordshire, providing haulage for the building and construction industry. Their services include demolition, waste management, site clearance, skip hire and the supply of building and aggregate materials. Their plant hire service spans a wide range of vehicles and equipment; from grab and tipper lorries to concrete crushers and pumps.

Rye House Co-Promoter Steve Jenson said, “We are delighted to welcome Brendan Mitchell (company founder and director) and his team on-board with us as we launch our second season in the SGB Premiership.

“Our relationship has actually come together in a very short period of time in the last few days. It began when BP Mitchell delivered all the soil we are using on a new Stadium Cross track that now sits on the centre green inside the Speedway circuit.

“Brendan was unfamiliar at that point with Speedway, asked what it was all about and – to use the old adage – the rest is history. It all went from there.

“We are proud to have them as our new team sponsors; we thank them very much for their support, and we look forward to being able to promote their brand within our own sporting medium.

“Supporters will have the chance to see the new Stadium Cross circuit on Monday when we will be using it for a pre-meeting demonstration – as you know, it is so important to make full use of a facility like Rye House Stadium with events like Stadium Cross in order to augment the main use for the Speedway – and to see the “BP Mitchell” Rockets in action for the first time too.”

Fans can get an early taster of the Stadium Cross circuit by watching the brief video below. If you look carefully, you will see Rockets captain Scott Nicholls and Rye House Co-Promoter Steve Jenson involved in the action!
