The BMR Rockets are delighted to end several weeks of public speculation by formally announcing Krzysztof Kasprzak as the final piece of their jigsaw for the 2018 SGB Premiership season.

The 2014 World No.2 and 5-time World Cup winner has already made a huge impact at the Hertfordshire club. After signing for Rye House last July, the Pole debuted with a four ride paid maximum in the Rockets’ memorable 60-30 win at Poole, and finished with a similar flourish in September against Leicester. Overall, he delivered a powerful 8.64 average (including bonus points) from his 11 matches for the side.

Rye House Co-Promoter Steve Jenson is thrilled to have the rider known simply as “K.K.” back in town for the new season. “We are obviously very, very happy to have got him on board for 2018. What he did for us last year - both in points and entertainment - speaks for itself.

“He was our “missing link”, so to speak, last season, and he did so much to turn our year around and get us so close to the Play-Offs.

“He is a very level-headed guy, and a total professional. He was good with all the other riders last year, a strong leader and eager to share his knowledge and experience.

Team Manager Peter Schroeck adds, “A lot of people don’t know that Krzysztof actually rode last year with a broken collarbone, with plates in there, but it didn’t stop his scoring for us.

“He had an operation to remove the plates before Christmas, and he’s been training and working hard on his fitness since then. So he is super-fit to go.

“He very much wants to be a part of the Grand Prix scene again, and he sees riding for Rye House as important in helping him achieve that goal. He really wanted to be back here this season.

“K.K. fits in perfectly with what we want to do in 2018, and because of the consistency of team we will have, he will help to really keep the momentum going from the way we finished last season.

“It’s the perfect win-win.”

Finally, Krzysztof’s own personal message: “I’m very happy to be able to stay in the team. We look a good side; all the boys are very good riders, plus we have a good boss, good manager and great fans. We will work hard for the best results for you all.

“A big thank-you to all my sponsors, and a special “Hello” to the fans – see you soon!”
