The BMR Rockets have reluctantly cancelled plans to hold an additional home meeting in 2017 to sign off their inaugural season in the SGB Premiership.

The club had originally hoped to stage a special farewell event following their narrow elimination from a Play-Off spot, and was in fact looking to run this on Saturday, October 14th, only to see the date pre-empted by the re-scheduled Championship Riders’ Individual – which will include Chris Harris in its field – following the original rain-off of this event on September 24th.

With many riders now winding down for the winter, finding suitable opposition after the 14th has proven not to be a viable option.

On a separate, more positive, note, the Rockets can reveal that they have already agreed terms with three riders, and are in dialogue with a number of others, as they work towards assembling their team for the 2018 season.

Expect further announcements in this regard following the BSPA’s Annual Conference in mid-November and the formal setting of team building points limits for next season.

In the meantime, Team BMR would like to thank everyone who has helped to make the 2017 season such a positive one: from the track staff and everyone else involved in making race days happen to our valued sponsors, and most importantly of all YOU the supporters, without whom there would be no Rye House Speedway.

We look forward to seeing you back at Rye House in 2018…. but do watch this space in the meantime!
